Higher Trails Parents Day Out (PDO) is an early childhood development ministry of Higher Trails Church and operates in accordance with its constitution, declaration of faith, and bylaws. Our declaration of faith can be found on our website.

Our mission is to offer a quality, Christian-based educational preschool program that ministers to each child and family. We provide a positive Christian atmosphere that promotes mental, physical, social, educational, and spiritual growth. Children learn in age-appropriate classrooms through structured, educationally driven activities. We believe preschool should be a safe environment where children learn in a fun and engaging way! At Higher Trails PDO our goal is to prepare children for their future education and to help them develop an understanding of who God is and why He is the center of our lives.

Program Details

Higher Trails PDO uses “ABC Jesus Loves Me” as our primary curriculum. ABC Jesus Loves Me provides five comprehensive, research-based curricula for ages 1-5 that focus on academics, development, and Bible learning through play. This curriculum is designed to prepare students for kindergarten and also build a firm foundation in Jesus.

Tuition & Enrollment Fees

The tuition for both age groups is $160/month per child. If more than one child in a family is
enrolled, tuition will be reduced to $150/month for other siblings. The registration fee is $100 per
school year and is non-refundable.

Please complete the following form in its entirety. Once completed, our Director will reach out to you to confirm your child's enrollment and placement into a class. Registration fee is due at that time to reserve your child's spot in the program.

If you are enrolling more than one child, please complete a separate form for each child.

A full Enrollment Packet will be emailed to you once a registration fee is received.

At Higher Trails Church Parent's Day Out, we are privileged to have a passionate team of individuals committed to nurturing your child's growth in a loving and faith-filled environment. Get to know the heart and soul of our program.

Director

Kaylee Barksdale

Kaylee and her husband, Hunter, have been attending Higher Trails Church for 8 years. She has served in various ministries including the Kids Ministry, Productions, and is Director of the No Fences Ministry which serves church members and the community during times of need. Kaylee and her husband, Hunter, have been married for seven years but have known each other for over 20. Prior to becoming a stay-at-home mom to raise their daughter, Kaylee worked in the medical field. She is Adult-Child-Infant BLS and AED certified. Keeping your children safe while they grow and learn about Jesus is her top priority at Higher Trails Church Parent’s Day Out.

Kaylee enjoys spending time with her family, serving at church, and is always in the mood for a good iced coffee.

Pre-K Teacher

Nichole Miller

Nichole earned a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education from the University of South Florida. Her teaching experience began at Sarasota Christian School in Florida teaching third grade, before relocating to the Celeste area in 2009. Since that time, Nichole has spent time bookkeeping for her husband's business and homeschooling her two sons. She has served as Director of the Higher Trails Kids Ministry since 2018 and completed the Texas Baptists Childhood Ministries
Certification in 2020. She believes deeply in the importance of building a Godly foundation in young children's lives.

Her hobbies include traveling with her family, gardening, and raising chickens.

Angela Gowens

Angela and her husband Richard have been married for 19 years and they have five children. Her family has been attending Higher Trails Church for 15 years. She is a Sunday School teacher in our 4th - 5th grade class and also teaches the Wednesday night “Club 412” group. Angela has been homeschooling for five years and is excited for another school year of teaching the 2’s class.

Along with spending time with her family, Angela enjoys crafting and working their cattle.
